Spring Breakers [Deeper and more cautionary than the normal teen sex farce, this dark but funny tale has 4 best friends/babes rob a restaurant to get $$$ to party on spring break, end up in jail, and are bailed out by gangsta rapper, drugs and arms dealer James Franco (!) who shows them a dangerous but fun new lifestyle. Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine play the babes. Harmony Korine directed. 2013. Rated R. 94 minutes.]

Dead Man Down [Twisty and stylish noir thriller as Colin Farrell plays a killer and right hand man of NYC crime lord Terrence Howard, but his world is turned upside down when he is seduced and blackmailed by sexy Noomi Rapace, a crime victim seeking revenge. Gatekeepers, The [Nominated for a 2012 Best Documentary Feature Academy Award, this film goes behind the scenes of the Shin Bet, Israel's Secret Service, that is in charge of overseeing Israel's war on terror - both Palestinian and Jewish. Six former leaders of the agency come together to try to come up with a two-state solution. Rated PG-13. 101 minutes.]

Host, The [2013] [The author of the Twilight series returns with a fast-paced and visually exciting sci-fi thriller starring Saoirse Ronan (Hanna) as a young woman who battles an unseen alien enemy that is taking over people's bodies and erasing their minds. Andrew Niccol directed this new spin on the familiar Invasion of the Body Snatchers concept. Co-starring Jake Abel, Max Irons, Boyd Holbrook and Frances Fisher. Rated PG-13. 126 minutes.]

My Best Enemy [Excellent WWII thriller starring Moritz Bleibtreu as the son of wealthy Jewish art dealers whose best friend Rudi is the son of their servant and a rival for Ursula Strass' affection. When the war breaks out, Rudi becomes a Nazi and turns the tables  on Bleibtreu, who becomes the underdog until he gains leverage in the war of wits by using his family's rare Michaelangelo drawing to deal with the enemy.
